Terms
Last updated 8 August 2026
These terms cover the Geko API, the console at app.geko.sh and this website, all operated by Geko. Using any of them means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind it.
Your account
You need an account and an API key to call the API. Keep the key secret and server-side: anything done with your key counts as done by you, and you are responsible for it. Tell us at amirlan@geko.sh as soon as you think a key has leaked and we will help you rotate it.
How you may use it
Use the service for anything lawful, except:
- synthesizing a real person’s voice, or presenting synthetic speech as a real person, without that person’s consent
- passing off generated speech as human where doing so is deceptive or against the law
- uploading audio you have no right to send us, or content that is unlawful
- reselling raw access to the API as your own speech API, reverse engineering the models, or working around rate limits and metering
We can suspend an account that is doing any of the above, or that is putting the service at risk for everyone else. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.
What you send and what you get back
The text and audio you send stay yours. You give us permission to process them for the one purpose of returning your result. We do not store them after that and we do not train our models on them, as set out in the privacy policy. The audio we generate for you is yours to use, including commercially. The models, the voices, the SDKs, the docs and this site remain ours.
Credits and billing
Usage is metered and drawn against credits on your account, priced as described in the billing documentation. Speech is metered by characters synthesized and transcription by seconds of audio. If prices change, the documentation is the current source and we will give notice before a change takes effect.
Availability
The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it up and fast, but we do not promise a particular uptime, latency or accuracy unless we have agreed one with you in writing. Models improve over time, so output for the same input can change between versions.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Ending it
Stop using the service whenever you like and ask us to close your account. We can end an account for a breach of these terms, or with reasonable notice otherwise. Unused credits are handled as described in the billing documentation.
Changes
We will update the date at the top when these terms change, and email the address on your account before a material change takes effect.
